SAPPCs Regional Early Warning System (SAPPC REWS), in partnership with the AU PAPS, RECs and SADC Member State Governments, is SAPPCs flagship program that has played a central role in all the 16 SAPPC National networks on Conflict Prevention initiatives due to its ability to reach and zoom in on even the small and remote communities that may be vulnerable to violent conflict including man made and natural disasters with the aim of improving human security and socio-economic development.
In line with the protocols relating to conflict prevention, management and resolution, peace keeping and security in Southern Africa and the African Peace and Security Architecture (APSA) of the African Union, SAPPCs Regional Early Warning System supports the African Union Continental Early Warning System (AU CEWS) Africa Reporter, SADC Early Warning and COMESA GPS Early Warning through the SAPPC CSO Network.
SAPPC REWS generates data from its Reporters and field monitors from open source platforms across all the 16 SADC Member States using a set of specific indicators.

SAPPC National Early Warning System Networks
SAPPC has established National Early CSO Networks across the SADC Region. These national CSO networks monitor local conflicts, collect and input data which supports the National, Regional and Continental Early Warning Systems guided by relevant protocols in line with Conflict Prevention, Resolution, Management, Peace Building and Security in the region which directly feed into the African Peace and Security Architecture (APSA) of the African Union through the Africa Reporter Tool and the SADC and CPOMESA Early Warning Systems.
African Union - Continental Early Warning System (CEWS) - Africa Reporter Tool
In partnership with the African Union Commission(AUC) SAPPC coordinates the AU`s Southern Africa Regions Continental Early Warning System (CEWS) Africa Reporter data input and analysis in the 16 ASDC Countries. The Conflict Early Warning System is one of the five pillars of the African Peace and Security Architecture (APSA). SAPPC through its National Early Warning System collects and directly feeds data into the African Unions Continental Early Warning System, through the Africa Reporter Tool. In addition. SAPPC compiles analysis reports on emerging threats and response options in all the 16 Southern African Member States.

Our capacity building and training program aims to increase the conflict prevention and peace building body of knowledge in the Southern Africa region by championing research and development in current, new and emerging fields, facilitating knowledge exchange, relevant capacity building and training of key institutions and practitioners for sustainable peace and development.

SAPPC GENDER-WOMEN, PEACE AND SECURITY (WPS) Our gender program supports members to integrate gender-sensitive peace building perspectives into their work. It also contributes a conflict prevention perspective to global advocacy efforts on women, peace and security issues.
SAPPC YOUTH PEACE AND SECURITY (YPS)
YPS mainstreaming is a cross-cutting priority for SAPPC. We believe that sustainable peace can only be achieved with the participation of all members of society, Youth Included, regardless of gender, religion, race, class, age, or nationality. SAPPC is also Chairing the Global GPPAC YPS Working Group (GPPAC YPS WG).
COUNTERING, PREVENTING VIOLENT EXTREMISM & TERRRORISM (CPVE-T)
The Program seeks to ensure enhanced coordination, strengthened partnerships, as well as to foster timely response to terrorism and violent extremism within the region.
GOVERNANCE, HUMAN RIGHTS & ELECTORAL CYCLE MONITORING
In a bid to reduce Electoral Violence in the 16 SADC countries, SAPPC has a pre, during and post election monitoring process which is done in collaboration with relevant state and non state actors. Members with Election Process Expertise, capacity build and train other members and communities to monitor and observe elections at local level.

POST-CONFLICT RECONSTRUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT (PCRD)
SAPPC PCRD initiatives seek to address the needs of countries emerging from conflict, including the needs of affected populations. It also aims to prevent escalation of disputes, avoid relapse into violence, address the root causes of conflict and consolidate sustainable peace.
CHILDREN AFFECTED BY ARMED CONFLICT (CAAC)
CAAC aims to ensure that all children affected by armed conflicts are adequately protected from violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation by providing early warning and preventative initiatives that strengthen the capacity of regional actors through data informed policy and practice initiatives.
